As many of you know, or not know, most stores aren’t opened on Sundays in Paris (as well as many other cities throughout Europe). What’s super frustrating is that there have been many Sundays where I wake up bright and early wanting to do some errands. I get dressed dressed, grab my wallet, keys, bag, then as I’m putting on my shoes… “Shoot, it’s Sunday.. they’re all closed”. You get the idea. It’s disappointing.
And if you’ve ever been to Paris, you might have also noticed that stores close earlier than what you might be used to back home. And if you’ve ever lived or tried living in Paris, you will also know that rent and property costs in the city are one of the most expensive in the world. So, for a brand like Nespresso, which has a large base of loyal Parisian customers with several stores throughout Paris in prime locations including one on Avenue Champs-Elysées, could probably benefit from adding a new feature to their stores: Nespresso Capsule ATM Machines. It would sit perfectly on the corner of the store facade. The idea came to me last Sunday when my boyfriend and I were taking a morning stroll. We passed by our neighbourhood Nespresso store, and… just like all other stores on the street - it looked dead, lifeless. It’s a brand loved by countless Parisians, but imagine: a loyal fan opens her cupboards on Sunday morning and finds that her favourite capsule flavour has ran out, or worse, all her capsules have ran out. Nespresso Capsule ATM Machines can solve the problem. Moreover, why not be the first store in Paris that has an ATM Machine that doesn’t dispense cash but.. something else? And why not maximise on rent costs as it's paying for the stores to exist there on Sundays and all after hours from Monday to Saturday anyway. This could be an initiative for Nespresso to further enhance brand loyalty and make this a convenient, inventive, and creative add-on to what is already offered. Maybe customers will end up looking forward to going to the Nespresso store just to use the Capsule ATM Machine!
